As an influencer, your goal is to earn the TRUST of a brand and more importantly, your audience. 

Instagram has been serving as the home for promotional ads and strategic marketing campaigns of brands. One strategy being highly used in the said platform is influencer marketing--- where online influencers get to hitch a collaboration (with agreed terms, let's not forget that) to market the brand's product or services. And to be an effective influencer, AUTHENTICITY IS A PARAMOUNT. 

If you are an influencer or an aspiring one, Here's a very short guide to help you with your brand authenticity.

DO NOT BUY YOUR FOLLOWERS.

There are many affordable services that you can use to buy Instagram followers. However, the not-so-breakthrough is that these followers are a most likely a bot. 

In addition... Sure, some collaborations sound very enticing and promising yet there is a need to pull out cash from you for your post to get involved in an advertisement, and in this type of ads, people are encouraged to join the giveaways and raffles setting a hope that they may win if the specific instructions are followed such as getting your account followed by those invested. On the other hand, we wouldn't want to discount the grain of truth in here that this capture leads for the brand and the influencers involved. The question really lies if your leads are going to be nurtured.

An increase in the number of followers is certainly guaranteed but worth-noting, when you buy Instagram followers, you're only paying for the numbers alone. Engagement, therefore, is not guaranteed. I've bumped into a lot of profiles where the numbers are high on followers but low in terms of likes and comments on every post. As a viewer, you did not earn my trust. Because as an influencer, you are supposed to be affecting my PURCHASING decisions. You got to have THAT POWER.  Influencer marketing is much more than looking for someone with a vast amount of audience and offering them money or exposure to say good things about the brand

It is significant to note that you are not just a marketing tool. You are an asset that helps in achieving the objectives of the brand in terms of marketing.
